I was horse back riding in the wine country of California...rode my horse closer to hopefully capture a few photographs of this tiny owl about the size of my hand, hoping that it would not fly away before I did. There was another little owl on the ground behind this one...they live and burrow in the ground. Thanks Andrea Lazar...I was trying to get close...tiny about the size of my hand. Riding horse back in wine country and it just stayed there. Another family member was on the ground below this one. I was so excited!
